Silicon Manganese is composed of manganese, silicon, iron and other elements with a small amount of carbon and other kinds of alloy. It is widely used in steelmaking industry and has become the essential deoxidizing agent and additive in steelmaking industry.
Size: 0-3mm,3-10mm,10-50mm or as per customers’ requirements.
Packing: 1MT/BAG

Description
Silico-manganese alloy is an alloying agent, deoxidizer and desulfurizer in the steel smelting industry and foundry industry. Its density is 6.3g/cm3, the texture is hard, the edges and corners of the section are rounder, no sparks are generated when colliding, and the color is between ferrosilicon and ferromanganese (darker). The manganese and silicon in silicomanganese have a strong affinity for oxygen. The deoxidation products MnSiO3 and Mn2SiO4 produced by the reaction have melting points of 1270°C and 1327°C, respectively. They have the advantages of low melting point, large particles, easy floating, and good deoxidation effect. Manganese is an indispensable functional basic raw material for the production of high-quality steel. As an alloying element, silico-manganese is added to the molten steel for alloying, which can reduce the brittleness of steel, improve the mechanical properties of steel, and increase the strength, hardness, ductility, toughness and resistance of steel. Grindability, adding silicomanganese to iron can improve the physical and mechanical properties of castings, and increase the strength and wear resistance of castings.

Silicon Manganese is used as a deoxidizer and an alloying element in steel. It is used as an additive in the steel industry as a deoxidant or utilised in the production of other manganese alloys.
Silicon reduces the solubility of carbon in manganese alloys so carbon contents are inversely proportional to the silicon content.
Silico Manganese is also used as an intermediary product for further processing into refined lower carbon ferro manganese grades.
